Last chance to donate to fire trust fund

BOWMANVILLE -- A trust fund to aid victims of the fire that tore through downtown Bowmanville late last month will close Friday.

The fund, set up by Bowmanville businessmen Dan Strike and Rick James, was created almost immediately after the April 29 blaze, which resulted in demolition of two historic buildings and varying degrees of damage to several others. As well, a number of families were forced from their apartments as a result of the fire, two permanently.

Donations can be made up until Friday at noon at the Bowmanville Bank of Montreal. The account number is 03072-8100-275.
