Accountability button at Lakeridge

DURHAM -- Accountability related documents for Lakeridge Health are now all in the same place on the web.

Lakeridge Health's website www.lakeridgehealth.on.ca is now equipped with an accountability button so residents can check how the hospital group is doing. Included in the section are the hospital's standard mortality rate, the health performance scorecard and the bylaws.

The hospital's vision, mission and strategic direction will also be available under the new heading.

The information, which used to be available in various places on the site is now more easily accessible, said Lakeridge CEO Brian Lemon.

"Although our strategic directions, bylaws, performance data and other accountability measures were previously available to the public, accessing them could sometimes be challenging -- requiring web searches or direct requests to the hospital," Mr. Lemon said in a news release. "Now, they are one, highly visible click away."

The site also has access to government documents and other sources related to accountability.

The section will be updated regularly to reflect current numbers.
