DURHAM -- The former chief operating officer of Durham College is returning to the campus as vice-president of external relations at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology.
In an announcement made Tuesday, UOIT president Ron Bordessa said that MaryLynn West-Moynes, who was also vice-president of marketing and communications at Durham College/UOIT, will start her position later this year.
She left Durham College and the UOIT in 2003 to become president of Mohawk College in Hamilton.
Ms. West-Moynes, who replaced the retiring Cal Haddad as Mohawk president in September 2003, cited personal reasons for her decision not to accept Mohawk College governors’ offer of a second term.
“MaryLynn has strong relationships with many colleagues on campus and with a variety of external stakeholders, especially government. I know that MaryLynn will do a great job in this newly created portfolio and will become an integral member of the leadership team as we continue to provide an outstanding post-secondary experience to our students,” said Mr. Bordessa.
Ms. West-Moynes will stay at Mohawk until the completion of her contract Nov. 30, or until the college can appoint a new president.
