UXBRIDGE -- Residents interested in Uxbridge's downtown revitalization are invited to a 'primer' evening this month.

The Township has invited James Stiver, director of planning for Orangeville, to discuss initiatives such as a Downtown Orangeville Conservation District and that town's Facade Improvement Grant Program.

The meeting, which will allow questions from the public, is in Town Hall council chambers, 51 Toronto St. S., on Tuesday, Sept. 9, at 7 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Township has issued a statement regarding the downtown revitalization process on its website, wwww.town.uxbridge.on.ca. "We anticipate that the development of the vision statement, which is the first priority, will take approximately six months and will become the master plan," reads the release. "The scope of the vision statement will be long-term, encompassing several decades and will include municipal, regional, provincial and federal participation. It will also include short-term projects and goals."
