The organizing committee for next year's celebrations have also put together an inventive fundraiser that plays not only on the village's name, but also the mascot for the anniversary.
The 'Beaver-Ton' project aims to collect $10,000 -- which would translate into one tonne of nickels -- over the next year.
"Nickels feature a beaver, which is the theme and the mascot for the anniversary," said Pat Mortimer, the Beaverton resident who thought of the fundraiser.
A total of 200,000 nickels are needed to reach $10,000 -- though organizers will welcome any denomination.
Accounts have been established at CIBC (account number 4801011) and TD Canada Trust (account number 5207901) for local residents to make a donation.
The money raised will be spread between local charities as well as UNICEF's Spread the Net program, which provides bed netting to children in Africa to prevent the spread of malaria from mosquito bites. Malaria is the leading cause of death for African children under the age of five, with the disease claiming 3,000 lives per day.
"Each bed net costs $10," said Ms Mortimer.
"Let's see how many our community can send."
