OSHAWA -- Police are searching for three thugs who burst into a central Oshawa home and terrorized a couple in what's being described as a home invasion-style robbery.

A three-year-old child lay sleeping upstairs as the victims were herded into the basement of the home in the area of Ritson and Taunton roads, just after midnight Wednesday, Durham police said. The young couple told police three men, one of them armed with a stun gun, barged through the front door; two suspects searched the home while the third man watched the victims, police said.

The thugs fled with two video-game systems and a digital camera, as well as the victims' purse and wallet.

Police said the robbery may have been a case of mistaken identity.

The suspects are identified as black men aged 18 to 25 who wore baggy clothing and had bandanas on their faces.
