DURHAM -- After limited options the last two weeks, Durham residents have more choices this weekend with nine of 15 beaches listed as fit for swimming.

The beaches in Oshawa, Ajax, Scugog and Newcastle are posted because of high bacteria levels. Samples taken by the Region during the week of Aug. 5 were tested at the Ontario Ministry of Health lab in Peterborough.
